Customer Reviews

I’ve made a great choice5
Bought 2 of these jackets and i’m so happy with them. Great quality, perfect fit, usually the arms are too short, not with these. The material is heavy and shrugged off rain very well. No jacket is completely waterproof! Wrinkle free after washing. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Anorak Jacket5
From the East Coast to Oregon I received my order in less than a week. I also requested a catalog from their web site and received. This windbreaker/rain gear is so great fitting, light and comfortable, I already placed an order for two more Anorak Rain Gear jackets.
The sizes are unisex, so look at the sizing chart before ordering. There is no seam across the shoulder, it runs up the arm and meets by the neck, so if you order too large there is no seam that hangs. In front is the zipper pocket which also is the pocket for wrapping up your jacket. There are two side pockets which connect underneath the front pocket. The bottom and hood have pull ties. It is nice for weather if not too cold, but when it is cold you can dress in layers with this jacket.
I don’t know how it will protect in heavy rain, time will tell.
When I ordered the catalog, there were more colors available. I emailed the web site about that and received an answer the same day.
Another viewer wrote about smell, no smell noted, and I ordered three.
Navy, Royal Blue and Stone.

Good deal!5
Its hard to know just what to expect from some online “deals”. However, My experience with Amazon, in the past, has been very positive. The anorak I ordered arrived on time and was much better than expected. The fabric was more substantial than anticipated, the fit was perfect and the rain just doesn’t get through. I’m very happy with the manufacturer, the price and Amazon.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Somewhere between the sharp satire of Election and the rich human comedy of You Can Count On Me lies Juno, a sardonic but ultimately compassionate story of a pregnant teenage girl who wants to give her baby up for adoption. Social misfit Juno (Ellen Page, Hard Candy, X-Men: The Last Stand) protects herself with a caustic wit, but when she gets pregnant by her friend Paulie (Michael Cera, Superbad), Juno finds herself unwilling to terminate the pregnancy. When she chooses a couple who place a classified ad looking to adopt, Juno gets drawn further into their lives than she anticipated. But Juno is much more than its plot; the stylized dialogue (by screenwriter Diablo Cody) seems forced at first, but soon creates a richly textured world, greatly aided by superb performances by Page, Cera, Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman as the prospective parents, and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man) and Allison Janney as Juno’s father and stepmother. Director Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking) deftly keeps the movie from slipping into easy, shallow sarcasm or foundering in sentimentality. The result is smarter and funnier than you might expect from the subject matter, and warmer and more touching than you might expect from the cocky attitude. Page’s performance is deceptively simple; she never asks the audience to love her, yet she effortlessly carries a movie in which she’s in almost every scene. That’s star power. –Bret Fetzer

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Product Description
Fun for both kids and adults, Blokus is a strategy board game that challenges spatial thinking. Bright colors and simple rules make it ideal for ages five and up, but adults will certainly be engrossed by this unique and challenging game.

Not Your Average Board Game
Blokus encourages creative thinking and has received a Mensa award for promoting healthy brain activity. The goal of this game is for players to fit all of their pieces onto the board. When placing a piece it may not lie adjacent to the player’s other pieces, but must be placed touching at least one corner of their pieces already on the board. The player who gets rid of all of their tiles first is the winner and strategic thinking helps as you block moves from your opponent. Blokus sometimes comes to an end because there are no more possible moves.

Four players make this abstract game especially fast and exciting; however, it can be just as fun for two or three players. Blokus has come up with a number of different ways to play the game to make it more thrilling when playing with less than four players. Draft Blokus allows a player to use more than one color and Reverse Blokus reverses the entire game so that the person who places the least amount of tiles on the board is the winner. It can even be played in a solitaire version when one player attempts to place all of their pieces in a single sitting. A game of Blokus typically lasts a 30 minutes. As a practical feature, raised edges on the board help keep the tiles in place and allow convenient clean-up. This game includes 84 pieces in four vibrant colors, an instruction guide, and one gameboard with 400 squares.

Blokus is simple to understand, but the game’s complexity is revealed shortly after everyone begins to play. It can be addictive, even for those not normally into abstract games. Blokus is a catalyst for spatial thinking, as players form images in their mind before placing the pieces on the board. Children and adults can play together for hours of competitive family fun. As Europe’s 2003 Game of the Year, Blokus is adored by many and even played in professional tournaments.

What’s in the Box
84 pieces in four colors, gameboard with 400 squares, and an instruction guide.

Once a piece has been placed on the board it can’t be moved, so plan your moves carefully. Adding to the game’s challenges, each new piece must touch at least one other piece of the same color, but only at the corners.

From the Manufacturer

this game is a Must Have!!5
This game is so much fun! It only takes a minute to learn, yet every game is different. It quickly became a favorite for many I know where we each own this game and various versions. Blokus is easy enough for a 5 year old and challenging enough for adult gameplay.

fun for all ages5
This game can be enjoyed by the whole family. You do not have to be able to read to play. It is good for challenging creativity. We have had alot of fun with this game.

Great fun for the entire family5
My 10-year-old son asked for this for his birthday. He wanted to play with it immediately, so in order to pacify him, a few of us adults agreed to play with him. It didn’t take long for us to see that this was not just a children’s game. We soon had other family members looking over our shoulders, giving suggestions and patiently waiting for their turn to play. The only person who had difficulty with the game was a relative who is red-green color blind. He is able to see slight variations to adequately play other games with colored tokens, but because this game requires frequent visual scanning of the array of colors, it was too much of an effort for him to enjoy the game like the rest of us. Another word of caution is to keep track of all of the pieces (a feat for my family of 3 children). My sister suggested tracing or photocopying the pieces to use as extras when we undoubtedly lose the plastic pieces in the future!

    Editorial Reviews

    Amazon.com
As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas’s extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel of an old, but popular, story model. Steven Spielberg directed all three films, which are set in the late 1930s and early ’40s: the comic book-like Raiders of the Lost Ark, the spooky, Gunga Din-inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cautious but entertaining Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Fans and critics disagree over the order of preference, some even finding the middle movie nearly repugnant in its violence. (Pro-Temple of Doom people, on the other hand, believe that film to be the most disarmingly creative and emotionally effective of the trio.) One thing’s for sure: Harrison Ford’s swaggering, two-fisted, self-effacing performance worked like a charm, and the art of cracking bullwhips was probably never quite the iconic activity it soon became after Raiders. Supporting players and costars were very much a part of the series, too–Karen Allen, Sean Connery (as Indy’s dad), Kate Capshaw, Ke Huy Quan, Amrish Puri, Denholm Elliot, River Phoenix, and John Rhys-Davies among them. Years have passed since the last film (another is supposedly in the works), but emerging film buffs can have the same fun their predecessors did picking out numerous references to Hollywood classics and B-movies of the past. –Tom Keogh

    DVD features
This long-awaited DVD set of the Indiana Jones trilogy is a classy set built for the fan. However, the DVD-extras junky will be disappointed because there’s not a bevy of extras: no storyboards, galleries, commentaries, or long-rumored deleted scenes. The three films are the real star here, restored frame by frame and–blessedly–unchanged from their initial release (the first movie has been retitled on the packaging only). Anyone who has grown up with TV airings will be amazed by what they see, as everything seems to glow. The three hours on the bonus disc are quite entertaining, and far warmer then your standard PR piece. The newly produced 127-minute documentary is put together chronologically through each movie, so it works as a good substitute for the lack of a commentary track. Lots of behind-the-scenes footage is laced with new interviews of every major living actor and crew member including stuntmen and even a bit player (Alfred Molina, talking about his first role in Raiders). They tell us many things we have heard, and many we haven’t (like how the film company became a rat breeder for Last Crusade). And Spielberg enjoys showing us how an editor can save a scene or–ironically–how much creative fun went into special effects before the computer took over. Rounding out the extras are featurettes on the music, sound, and–too briefly–special effects, and stunts. –Doug Thomas

I reaLLY enjoyed this CD set; it was just like being at the movies. it is also fantastic with surround sound (which I recently got). Good buy and good value.

Triple Indian Jones DVD set + One5
I was very happy that I decided to use Amazon.com to look for my collection set. The DVD’s were sealed and in the orginal box along with an extra feature DVD. I am a big Indian Jones fan and will eagerly look forward to the final DVD when it is released to the public. I will be back to shop (and sell)
    Indiana Jones is awesome5
I had to get this set on DVD, since the use of VHS is becoming limited. The quality is awesome and the stories are as good as ever. I can’t wait for the 4th installment of the series to come out.

    Holga5
This camera is great, but dont buy it if you are looking for a fancy camera! The Holga is the absolute bare basics- its quite literally the simplest camera ever. You should only buy this if you know and are expecting that…but the Holga is an awesome way to simplify your process and toss away the frills

    very cool but…..2
so i got this camera to toss in my bag and use for fun. i’ve been shooting for several years now and am well aware of basic concepts of photography (e.g. aperture, shutter-speed, film speed, as well as film and print development etc). my first roll was completely washed out. i was pretty upset, i had a lot of great pictures on that roll and they were gone, huge bummer. i haven’t used it since. the thing that blew me away was that two of the pictures developed, the rest were completely blank. while i assume it was something i did i couldn’t pin-point what it was and still have no clue. i’m going to stick with my trusty 35mm, hope you have better luck than i did.

Never know what to expect, but still fun4
This is my second Holga 120N. I really love using these cameras as a diversion from the now common world of digital cameras. Sure, I could get a better used medium format camera for about the same price without the problems of light leaks, soft focus, and harsh vignetting, but that is kinda the point, isn’t it? It is fun to use and doesn’t hurt to lose. Pick one up to maybe create something new out of very old technology.
